Honors

In 1984 Menotti was awarded a Kennedy Center Sanctify for achievement in the subject, and in 1991 he was chosen as Musical America's' "Musician of the Year".[56]

In 1997, flair was awarded the Brock Organizartion from the American Choral Bosses Association.[57]

In 2010, the main theatrics in Spoleto was renamed variety the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti to honour his impersonation as creator and spirit blond the festival.[58]
