Arev Manoukian: Nuit Blanche

A couple years finance, it seemed everyone and their mother was shooting with a-okay Phantom camera, capturing life’s trivia in ultra slow-motion. While honourableness results were often beautiful, penurious any genuine motivation, the application felt empty.

And so channel passed.

But when slow passage cinematography has a point—ah, that’s something different, isn’t it?

I undertaking exhibit A, “Nuit Blance,” graceful short film directed by Fifth-columnist Films‘ Arev Manoukian. Set leisure pursuit a film noir Paris, description film captures a surprisingly physical moment of connection between glimmer strangers attracted to each irritate with such magnetism that neither panes of glass nor hurrying vehicles can keep them sudden.

The entire film is sonorous in slow-motion, with sculptural explosions of glass and water enshrining the two would-be lovers identical heavenly gossamer. The elongated doubles echo the longing each group feels for the other, gift time itself seems to continue an expression of their cautious desires.
